Our Dynamic Dining Program
Heartwood Homes Dynamic Dining Delights Residents with More Choices and More Control
We were asking all of our residents to follow one schedule of breakfast served each day at 8 a.m., which required staff members to start waking residents at 5:30 a.m. so everyone would be ready at the same time. “It could get pretty chaotic,” recalled our founder, Jason. “Staff was rushed and residents who like to sleep in were grumpy because they had to get up so early.” We realized that people have had many years of following their natural rhythms of sleeping and eating before they come here, so we introduced the concept of “Dynamic Dining.”
Today, Early birds and night owls alike appreciate the flexibility of the Dynamic Dining concept. The atmosphere is much more relaxed and enjoyable for everyone. Dynamic Dining gives residents more choices and more personal control over their daily routines. Now, a continental breakfast is served from 8:30 to 10 a.m. with brunch following from 11 a.m. to Noon. Rather than conforming to a rigid schedule, residents now choose when to rise and when to eat. Whether residents follow an “early to bed, early to rise” schedule or prefer to burn the midnight oil, Dynamic Dining makes setting personal schedules much easier.
We also offer a 2:30 p.m. snack, dinner at 5 p.m. and another snack from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Features & Benefits of Our Dynamic Dining Nutrition Program
Our menu plans provide residents with healthy, homemade food products. Recipes are often gathered from residents’, families, and employee’s favorite dishes. We limit the purchasing of pre-made products as these items are full of salt and preservatives. We cook from scratch using fresh, authentic ingredients. We start with food in its simplest, most natural form. Soups, gravies, and most sauces are made from scratch. We purchase locally-grown and seasonal products. The food we make is full of flavor and nutrition.
Other Program Features
- Sugar-Free: Ingredients and products we purchase are sugar-free and no sugar added. We also make delicious homemade sugar-free desserts.

- Focus on Fruits and Vegetables: Fresh fruits and vegetables are offered and encouraged.
- Proper Hydration: As part of our Dynamic Dining Program and more frequent food offerings, fluids including water, milk, juice, and fruit smoothies are also offered during each snack and meal time.
