Heartwood Homes in Appleton is an 18 bed assisted living facility specializing in dementia / memory care. Our Appleton location opened its doors with open hearts in October of 2005. This Facility was born with the growing need for our loved ones with Alzheimer’s and dementia. With this in mind we wanted to create an environment to best suite their needs. We decided to keep the layout simple, practical, yet comforting; while most importantly fulfilling a basic need- a feeling of “HOME”. Our Appleton layout can put your loved ones safety at ease. It offers independence allowing your loved one to feel free to stroll around, while still offering a peace of mind that they will not be confused on how to find their room. This facility provides a secured environment with electronically monitored exits to help those who may wander.
Each resident has their own room and half bath. On each of the two wings one will see the circular motion of our room’s best enabling staff to meet the needs of each resident. This allows staff to be available to offer the best care and offer 1:1 time with each resident. One look around Heartwood Homes one will see our residents out and about enjoying the company and companionship of each other. Or singing, listening, or dancing to cheerful music that is played throughout the facility. During warm weather, residents enjoy our outdoor patios and cookouts, fenced – in memory gardens with walking paths. Our residents feel very much at home and each day is a fresh beginning that allows each person to feel comfortable and safe and free to be who they are.

If you are searching for a very quaint, cozy, place to call home, our Menasha location is exactly what you are looking for. In our Menasha Home you will not just be a number! This is due to the nice layout of two side by side ranch style houses that provide suburb quality care to only 7-8 people per residence. This uniqueness allows Heartwood Homes of Menasha to provide a very intimate, peaceful, and comforting feeling of home. Neither of our locations are intimidating because we do not believe in large facilities. We believe in keeping our homes simple while offering a true feeling of belonging to the Heartwood Homes family. For this reason, one can be relieved to know that our residents have no problems transitioning and settling right into their new home.
Heartwood Homes in Menasha is across from Gegan Elementary School, located in a safe residential neighborhood. Residents can enjoy watching the children come and go or reflect on their younger years as they listen to the Menasha football games in the fall. We offer spacious private and semi-private rooms that one can decorate with personal belongings. Our Residents truly enjoy cozying up on the couch and watching programs on the large screen TV’s., or engaging in meaningful conversations and activities with newfound friends. The best aspect is our promise of nothing but the best quality of life and care. We pride ourselves on our high staff to resident ratios and the quality of time our staff spends with each person.
