Mom had no interest in going to an assisted living facility, even though the rest of the family knew it was time. On the first day we arrived and set up Mom’s spacious room to look like home. When the time came to get Mom we brought her there and her first words were “I could live here!” That was almost 7 years ago and our family has never regretted that decision.
The staff is very caring and helpful, the building is bright and always decorated for the season, and the food is tasty and plentiful. There are daily activities and visits from singers, musicians and even a pet or two! Mom’s favorite activity to do in the nice weather is to go outside and take in the sights and smells of the beautiful flower gardens surrounding the buildings.
Mom has changed significantly over the last few years but Heartwood Homes’ caregivers have adapted to her needs. It was certainly the right decision for our family.
